Last year, (early June '04) there was a post about camping in Copmanhurst on the Clarence River, just upstream from Grafton. A farm property, sounded brilliant, posted by "squid", who said he'd post contact details for anyone who was interested. Squid has probably moved on to Timbuktu and we're left with no contact details. Anybody know of it?

Actually, it's not the one. Copmanhurst is only 10 ks at most out of Grafton. Will give it a look though.

Don't know if you are talking about the area you can camp at right on the river at Copmanhurst itself, or the Clarence Gorge further up the Copmanhurst road. This one is actually on a property but camping permiited right on the river.
If its the gorge check this out: Clarence Gorge

Cheers Shawn. Sounds like we're getting warmer. Think it's the property. The post I referred to (from last year) said they charged about $10 per night. It was the Gorge too. They apparently allow dogs and kayaking & fishing sounds the go for us. You been there?

Steve,
I was there about 18 months ago but only for the day, however there a couple of camper trailers there down by the river.
From memory $10.00 a night was the go. Don't know about dogs being allowed there though. We got a brouchure from the tourist info place in Grafton and followed the signs.
Cheers
Shawn
