Welcom to the CT brotherhood Clive, I think you will find the hardest thing about owning a CT is getting the time to use it often enough. About this time last year we were in Denham with our CT and nearly got blown away. We stay at the caravan park by the beach at the end of town (cannot recall its name) . Its a nice park but we were up the top in the new section and had a great view over the water but copped a hammering for a few days from the wind and finally rain as a strong front went through, luckily for us we were able to relocate down to a more sheltered area before the worst of it hit.
Over the past 10 years we have holidayed in the area many times, I think its a great spot - enjoy
Regards
Alanc

Congratulations!
I hope you enjoy your new toy and perhaps we will meet somewhere and swap yarns over a red.
I used to have a handle on life, but it broke.

Cheers Dodg.

Hi Clive
Have just returned from our maiden voyage with a camper trailer and after nearly 8 weeks on the road we will be heading off again as soon as possible(had to return home to tend to family matters....bugger!!) . Travelled Bundaberg-Rocky-Longeach- Winton-Boulia-Donahue & Plenty- Alice -Ayers Rock - Tennant Creek-Mataranka-Darwin -Dundee Beach -Litchfield -Barkley-Mt Isa - hughenden- Lynd -Atherton-Tinaroo ( and as many places in between as possible) and home via Ayr (parents place) and down the coast. Had a ball. Thought we might have got the gripes with putting the tent up and down for the times when we just did overnighters but no, it was great and easy to do after a couple of times. Met plently of nice people, learnt a lot of useful tips and I think must have seen about 50 different brands and models of camper trailers during our trip. We used to tent it and enjoyed every bit, but a camper trailer certainly added luxury and storage space. Good luck with the maiden voyage and here's to many more trips.

Cheers
Kev

Must be quite a bit of the CT stuff going on. I, too, have just ordered an new kangacamper and will pick it up in early September.....just in time to head off to the Flinders and then the Border Track for about a month.

Just thought I would mention it.

The Campertrailers Group on Yahoo , is a very useful place for all things CT.

Had our first national gathering at Copeton Dam about a month ago , 30 odd CT's and 100 or so people turned up for a fantastic few days.

Better then ANY camping show for ideas , and looking at different campers.
