I have recently been told that there is a company which supply a kit to allow the Toyota sat nav to play general Dvd's with the addition of another player etc as folks are doing this when they get reverse cameras linked up to the system.

Can anybody help me out here ?

Thanks in advance.

No , its not illegal to have it , its illegal for the driver to be able to see it when moving , so , they must shut off when moving.

Having it , isn't the problem , using it is.

Hi,

The Pajero has the dvd plyer configured with the sat nav.

In standard setup it can only be viewed when the car is stationary.

The mobile phone kit installer of a well known mobile phone supplier (with red colour) said he can make the dvd player usable at all times by disconnecting a wire.

Only his comments, but was not done on friends car.

When screens in cars first came out they were disabled when the car was in motion by having a wire connected to the handbrake switch. So if you wanted to view the screen when car was in motion you either didn't connect that wire or you put in an override switch.
Not sure how they do it these days.
