Been a while since I've been on the net....a lot of new faces! A hello to y'all...
Quick question....the brother in law has a 2004 model Rodeo 4WD. Never been off road before, so I duly took him shopping for a few basics...snatch strap, shackles and some recovery hooks. Low and behold, we get home, nowhere to bolt the buggers on (the front that is)!
Anyone with a Rodeo that can help me out? Is there a kit/brackets...any bolt on bits to fit them? Don't really wish to drill holes in the chassis...
Don't really want to snatch from the tie down point either...
Any help would be most appreciated.
Thanks

I emailed GMH's customer support very soon after I got my RA in 2003 and have it in writing that the front eye on the passenger side is for Recovery, suitable for snatching and winching. In the reply the eye on the front was worded as 'front recovery point' no mention of it being a tie down.
Same with the genuine towbar has the two loops on either side, once again are both suitable fornsnatching and winching.
I have had my RA snatched more times than I can remember at 'Taralgon' (name is probably incorrect, Dandenong Ranges, Vic) as
well as on 4WD club training courses, including the other RA present.
Cheers.
Dion.

Thanks Dion,
I might do the same and send GMH an email.
The eye on the front looked stronger than the usual tie down point, so that will save us a lot of mucking about....
Cheers

I got the same answer as Dion.
I also thought it looked stronger than normal tie down but not THAT strong. I did see an RA at a customer's site that had an after market recovery point bolted on to the FRONT of the chassis rail. There the new kind, can't remember the brand, but it's like a flat plate with 4 bolts on it with
the loop off the front. If you climb under the Rodeo, you'll see some bolts on the front of the chassis rail. Unfortuntely, this is where my genuine bull bar is connected. His RA had a TJM after market bar. I'm going out there Thursday and will take my camera.
I've tried for ages to work out recovery points for the RA, so was very excited to find them already fitted to another unit.
Stay tuned. And if you find out any information in the mean time, please let me know as
well.
Cheers,
Jason.
