Forgot to mention I need unit to operate in both hemisphere's,ie Aus & Western Europe

The units you mention I suspect are for suburban streets.
I don't know if they are much use off the beaten track. ie you can't load them with Natmap Topographical maps.
A solution that may fulfill your requirements is the Magellan Meridian in which you can change from the Australian Basemap to the Euro Basemap, and load detailed maps for specific regions.
