Hi there
This just a follow up as about 2 MONTHS ago I asked where I could get my gearbox fixed... WELL IT'S DONE!!!! (as you can see i'm just a BIT happy about having my car back!)
Thankyou SO much to everyone who replied to my initial call for help.
I rang the guys at Westwide Recylers and they didn't have one but were so good & helpful, we ended up going to Perth 4WD Centre in Welshpool and they did a great job and had it up & going in no time at all AND were very good with the price...
Once again thankyou all for your help..

Blu Mu
moo-ing all over the place again.... ;-)

Thats great mate...so what did you end up having done and what was the hurt in the hip pocket??

Just curious since after nearly 300 000km the only attention my Gbox has needed is fresh oil...dont want to tempt fate but you never know!!

Matt.

I'm also interested in what you had done and how many bickies it cost. I've got a Jackaroo, which cost me 2k for transfer case bearings and now I have a stripped filler plug on the gearbox. This I am not too worried with as I intend to weld the thing up with the mig and put in a tap to fill the box with rather than using a steel plug in an alloy box.
Cheers
Wetty

Hi guys,
It cost $ 2 125.00 & that was fitted as well. It IS a second hand box out of a Rodeo, we were well pleased as we had been quoted just over $ 2 500.00 from another guy. It would have been less $ 275. if we had of fitted it ourselves, but for that price WHO wants to mess around with it?? As I mentioned they did a great job.

It was just bad luck (hmm AND a bit of poor maintenance!!) that caused it to bugga up in the first place.
By the way I asked the guy at Perth 4wd centre if HE was Matt MU!!!!! I think he thought I must have been a kook!! (HA HA.)
also not sure if this was the right way to respond?????
