Hi all,
Noticed on my 100 series, which effectively has dual headlights, that the top lights are low beam only and the bottom ones are high beam only. Has anyone out there managed to fit dual filament globes to the top lights so that on high beam you have 4 lights on high rather than the standard 2 high plus 2 low? I would need to source twin filament globes and plugs to match - are they available as they are not a standard H4?. Wiring mods are not a problem, I can handle that side of it with a relay to cut out low beam etc.
Cheers
Gerry

Hi Gerry, I can't help directly with the question, but if your headlight lense is plastic the heat generated could be too high.
If glass, the heat shouldn't be a prob.
I wait with interest to the responses to your q.

Gerry, Not an answer to your question but, I'm pretty sure (but dont quote me) that the headlights will only have 55watt globes in them (
mine had). You'd be better off upgrade the globes to 100 watt or higher, save you a lot of hassel.

Couldnt do what you are discussing but i upgraded my globes to the HIR repalcement globes from ARB. My
driving lights are these and were fairly good for the price so thgought i would try the globes.
They are defintiely brighter than the previous globes and because they say they are effectively 130 watt globes drawign 65 watt you dont need to start playign wiht wirign looms etc.
Certainly seems to work, also lastly check your headlight aimings,
mine were too high right from day one and got worse over time to the point i was gettign flashed by every car i passed including semi trailers at one stage.
Since the new globes are in i thignk they have been readjusted and are now a tad too low aimed.
Next service in a 1,000kms so willg et them checked then.

i had other thigns doen at the time but if i recall correctly were quite expensive at about $200 a apir and i put them inot both the high and low beam so $400 all up.
I made sure i kept the old globes as spares.
