I hope the Landcruiser diesel engine design team are taking comprehensive notes when designing the new 130 series.

I reckon in 10 years there'll be a heap of them running around in 2001 TD patrols.... ;-)

I thought something like that was going to be shoe horned in the last Patrol upgrade... I was wrong. They went with the upgraded cup holders instead!!!!

Sorry to disappoint some of you fella's, but a durumax won't fit in a GU engine bay, I closely investigated that option.
Well, I shoudn't say "won't", a 7.3lt ford engine would fit with the aid of a gas axe on the inner gaurds and a bigger hammer, let's just say it won't fit practically or sensibly.
I'm sure I read somewhere that the 130 series yota is going to be somewhere in the mid 700nm region, then all we need is a live axle front diff of the same strength as the rear one, slightly stronger box and drop about 15k off the "badge" price and a few more of us might be enticed, seing as nissan unfortunately can't seem to come up with anything half decent in the power stakes.

Dreamin' on

How about Mercedes-Benz 6.0 litre turbo charged V12 Petrol.

1000 Nm of torque.

Let's see a Diesel do that LOL.

Serious stuff. I think it was International who manufactured a series of huge V12 petrol truck engines in the late 50's / early 60's when fuel prices in the US were low.

Jimbo,
7.3 TD f250 with tune-it adjustable chip thingo will make 1000nm on max setting, and you could buy one here tomorrow.

Matt,

Just goes to show that at a given capacity a Petrol motor produces nore torque than a diesel. No doubt uses more fuel to do it too.

Cheers,

Jim.
