Hi all.
Moggs and I have been talking about a family orientated bbq day near
Melbourne on 28-Aug. Something kid friendly, not too far away.
I'll post a gathering, but we have some options on location. Can be out at a suitable kid friendly
state forest patch nearby with perhaps surounding tracks for those inclined later. Or more simply, somewhere like Jells
park or similar (Melb central, big, open, play equipment).
Open for
forum thoughts, discussion, location, takers, etc?
Tone

It appers that I will be in Melb doing some IT work in Somerton (staying in the City most likley) over the weekend of 10th & 11th Sept. So I may also try to setup a gathering of some description. It would have to be afternoon/night to avoid clashing with work. Any thoughts or ideas welcome. Saturday afternoon/night the best I think.

Trucksters place at Lanwarrin would be good. His BBQ is great
Just remember when you
park:
Hide all valuables
Remove steering wheel (or someone else will)
Jack up vehicle and take off all wheels (B4 someone else does)
Lock wife in boot
hide children (from Mr Stinky)
take out anything that resembles food
remove engine and take in to BBQ (otherwise someone else will remove it)
park in Trucksters back yard (to keep an eye on the car)
Hey its just like
Alice Springs
See You NT

LOL, Adam, I'll add
mine to the list for a loaner if you want.
However, you don't need kids...you have something much more special to bring - the Fire & Ice :)

Tony,
Great idea.
We'll be there all things being
well. Jenny's having surgery on the 16th and if she's OK we'll be there.
Jells
Park sounds great. Also Lysterfield Lake is a pearler and Duffy's Landing at the Cardinia Dam is a great bbq spot as
well.
Cheers,
Jim.

Hi Tone,
Yep, we are good for the 28th.
Only suggestion re: venue would be that the place have some shelter in case of bad weather. My vote would be Jells however we are happy with any other venue.
Would also be happy to forego the 4wd bit for this one and just have a bbq/picnic to catch up with / meet some new EO people.
Looking forward to it.

Hi Kerry. Yep, looks like we have a plan! Would suggest Cardinia Reservoir from what I've heard. Lots of shelter (more than Jells it appears), big play area. Never been there myself, keen to one day. Sounds that sound?

Ok! Looks like a go'er. Cardinia Reservoir Park sounds like a
good spot, Melway ref p210 E2 for anyone who is unsure. The finer details to be posted in the gathering bit.
Looking forward to catching up and meeting all and sundry. Hope everyonel can make it.

Sounds Great - particularly as Cardinia Park is 10 mins from
home. We plan to be there, 2 adults 3 children 10,11 and 13.
