Has anyone got the contact details for the carpet offcuts guy who does the swap meets in Melb. I think he was from Lilydale.

Gadgets new _Affordable_Storage_Drawers.aspx are nearly finished and I need to carpet them.

Oops forgot to ask if anyone knows of a good spray on contact adhesive too.

Anyone tried the 3M 77 adhesive? I've used it for other stuff and it sticks like nasty stuff to kids shoes... what about carpet though.

Aparently Wurth have a good one too but I've not tried it.

Thanks in advance.

I've been building _Affordable_Storage_Drawers.aspx for the back of my cruiser as well and co-incidentally I just stuck the carpet on the top last night. I used the standard "contact" from a can but wasn't really happy with it and would appreciate other suggestions before I do the rest too.

i needed some carpet off cuts recently for laydown matts for our pistol club, wanted 16 or so 2m x 1m....rang two places asking for second hand stuff they had ripped up and was told to come n have a look-see if anything suitable......got more than we required for our laydown mats, now have 25 off them with enough left over to carpet the club rooms...... cost...a very sincere thank you...
its second hand but in good nick...only problem was that we had to square it up as when they pull it up they dont care how rough they do it......time is all that matters

Thanks guys, dropped in at an auto upholsterer in Shep on the way home from nightshift in Wang. (YAWWWN)

I might even get him to do it. He recommended a spray on laminex contact adhesive that they use but you need a putty gun. He had a good range of backed and unbacked stuff and I reckon he'll do a top job and it won't cost much more than just getting the carpet off him.

Saves me about 2-3 hours too.
