Hi guys, long time reader, first time poster, so here goes!!
I am looking at purchasing a 99 Navara dual cab diesel 3.2,
snorkel, bull bar, rear bar incorporating tow bar, air p/steer etc etc
Anybody had any bad experiences with these trucks that i should now about.
This unit is a very tidy vehicle both inside and out. I will be test driving it tomorrow (Sat) and would appreciate any feedback before i go ahead with the purchase.
Will be only using it for a weekend 4wd'er, no extreme stuff as it also has to be my daily driver
Thanks
Hillie

You would be many times better off with the 3ltr job. IE the x Patrol engine.
The 3.2 was sold turbo charged overseas and was ok but the non turbo as sold here is a bit of a dog in comparison.
It would be worth the extra $s.
Yes I am a Nissan Owner.

Hi Hillie,
I did the same investigation in 2003, ie by second hand or current model.
I was told on numerous occassions that the 3.0 ltr model is a heaps better vehicle.
After purchasing a 3.0ltr ST-R in 2003, I must admit I was glad of the decision. The 3.0ltr diesel engine in a beaut, and 4x4 driving is a real pleasure (and fun) in this vehicle.
I would highly recommend you look into a later model that has the 3.0 TD
To let you know, we also have a 3.0ltr Patrol, and the navara has it all over the Patrol in torque and 4x4 driveability
Hope this helps

Guys,
Thanks for the feedback. i was a liitle apprehensive about the 'non-turbo' engine. it all got the better of me so i went down to the dealer this arvo to test drive it and i wasnt overly impressed and he couldn't give me enough for mum's taxi!!
the car had a bad vibration under load that felt like a tailshaft or diff problem. probably something the dealership "might" fix up prior to delivery but it is a problem i can do without??
i guess i will keep looking. it is not desperate that i find another 4by today, but i would rather find a good truck that will serve the family each weekend.
Happy 4bying
Hillie
