Has anyone tried scanning frequencies on HF &
UHF radio's at the same time.
When I do this my
UHF radio stops scanning at Channel 35.
When I swithch off the
HF radio The UHF will continue to scan all channels
How can I over come this so that both radio's will scan at the same time
Thanks
Cheers

Sounds like the HF is getting into the UHF. Try moving both the sets and their aerials apart.

Hi Footloose,
I have tried that, at least as far from each other as possible in the car and still be able to operate the sets.

Simple solution, take 35 out of the scanning group. 35 is the input channel for emergancy repeaters on channel 5 anyway, so if there is a repeater around you'll most likley get better reception on 5 anyway, if not then you'll pick them up on another chanel in an emergancy no doubt they'll try a few others too if their life depends on it!

Thanks Jeff, that was a simple solution. Don't know why I didn't think of that

Given that 35 is the receive frequency for duplex operation on 5 this won't make much difference if ch 5 is set for duplex operation.
Dunno why it's happening but try setting ch 5 to duplex and repeat the scan. Does it stop on 5 (duplex)?
If it doesn't you have a really weird problem.
If it does make sure you leave 5 in your scan program but turn duplex off on 5. you'll only hear half the conversation but in an emergency you could turn the HF off and hit the duplex button.
