Hello all - would be interested in any opinions on whether people think this is a good deal or not......
We are about to clinch a deal on a 2000 GXL 5spd model with 80000km. Very Good Cond, very little off road. Comes with ARB Bullbar, Aux Battery, Elec Sunroof, Sidesteps,
Snorkel, Kaymar Dual Carrier Steel Rear Bar/Towbar, 182l L/R
tank (+ Standard Aux
Tank), ARB Diff Locks Front & Rear.
I know, with all that gear you would think it has been used hard - I've checked it out thoroughly and the guy just liked to add everything - he traded it in on a Lexus470 and kept the winch, cargo barrier, roofrack, IPF spots, and rear _Affordable_Storage_Drawers.aspx.
What do you reckon??

Yes I am thinking that, If it was not going to be used off-road then way would you add all those accessories, I am sure the diff-lock’s were not just for show when cruzing the suburb’s.
I would just check the under body very closely for scrap marks, red dirt and so
forth, also turn the heater on and see how much dirt and rubbish fly’s out at you.
Either way it sound’s like a top vehicle
well set-up and if it’s a good price why not, it’s done less than 20,000 per year so it’s hardly been worked.

OUCH !
That price is way over the odds. Just saw one with less mileage traded with b/bar and towbar for 33K and that was an auto.... Man that is at least 6-7k too strong ....
Unless of course you are trading and they are giving you back retail on your car ;).
Walk away while you can.

Just to put into perspective for you a good mate of
mine is a soil analyser and consults with the weather bureau to help farmers determine what to plant and when etc etc .. He does serious mileage and all in west QLD. He has a 2004 man GXL which has 65,000km's on it and is 12 months old. He just traded that for $42,000 k !!!..
I don't care how much gear this thing has on it there is no way a 5 year old truck is worth that sort of money.

Just remember Carl that the age of a vehicle has a much greater effect on the resale price than km's . No matter what the car is !!!......... You own this thing for 4 years and it is a 10 year old truck worth early 20's.
Keep shopping.
Just my opinion of course.
