We are planning a trip from Dalhousie to Finke with a Jayco off road camper and a 4wd landcruiser...is this doable...?considering variable road conditions of course and driving to them is the trek able to be done towing a vehicle with good clearance??

I've posted this before!
Last time I was there a guy drove a Magna along that route, via Mt Dare.
The Finke crossing was very soft and deep, last time, but that shouldn't really pose too much problem for you.
Just use up lots of fuel.
Chambers pillar(north of Finke) was a nice place too!
have a nice trip :)

We did this trip 4 weeks ago - 3 days after the heavy rain. we were towing an Ultimate. it was very wet and muddy. lots of fun. have also done it in the dry and it normally is very easy.

Clearance is not an issue there normally - its just that those roads get flogged to death by tourists and it seems that all the dust has been blown away by constant traffic - that just leaves the stones and you ! Reduced pressures and speed should see you tootling along nicely - its not all stones usually - just some of it. If you give the folks at Mt Dare Homestaed a buzz close to the actual time, they will will give you the good oil.
