What a top day! Started out just trying to get time to install the
snorkel I took off the petrol Patrol and transfer it across to the t/diesel. It went so
well (even without a template - just lots of measuring and a lump in my throat) that I got time to install the new Milford barrier as
well. Neat as a button and finished by 3:00pm. Not a bad day's work. Time for a beer! :)

I had a similar couple of days with the GQ refitting my rear storage setup( home made from MDF). I moved the storage 'box' backwards flush with the rear doors and created a space behind the back seats for 4 fuel and 2
water jerries. I have even incorporated a space for the Porta Pot (if Nudenut reads this he is not going to leave me alone lol) which has made SWMBO very happy. Still have to manufacture some new shelving for inside and build a box on the roof rack to store the
camp beds. The solar panel will be fixed to the lid of that box. Looks like the air compressor will have to be jammed in somewhere under the bonnet and have to re work my tool kit as I carry too many of them. All of this in mind while still trying to cut down on gear carried. What else would one do in retirement ? :o)

Hehe... I love days like today :)
I've taken the Outback roller drawers/fridge slide out of our Jeep (relegated to daily driver duties now) and installed them in the new GQ. Placed them like you did - flush with the rear doors. I can fit 4 jerries at the front of the _Affordable_Storage_Drawers.aspx in the lowered floor behind the barrier. Nice and snug! I'm yet to find a permanent spot for the Thetford P-a-Potty (mt SWMBO appreciates it too... :( ) but I'm working on it.
The only problem fitting the _Affordable_Storage_Drawers.aspx so far back is that it's now curtailed plans I had for a rear swing-up table mounted to the RHS door. There's no room now. Oh
well.
I'm putting the roof-top tent up there soon, and will be putting up a small roof rack in front of the tent which will also hold the solar panel and a set of four LightForce 170 spotties to complement the two LF240's on the bar.
Wish I was retired.......... we could just sit down at a
campsite with you guys, and swap stories and drink lots of red. Soon I guess.........
Cheers
Chris

Same sort of weekend for me.
I fitted a new bed base in the camper on hinges so I can get some underbed storage and not have to unpack everything everytime we stop.
How hard could it be to fit some supports, hinges and slot in a bit of MDF? Naturally it didn't quite fit, it fouled on bolts, got caught on plastic trimming etc. There I am flat on my back in a 500 mm cavity with a 33 kg hunk of MDF hovering above me with my two sons pushing it in. We had the bloody thing in and out 4 times.
It's still not quite right. Next weekend the finishing touches and fit the hydraulic dampers.
Am I ever enjoying this beer.
Cheers,
Jim.

LOL!! Good job Jim :)
Nothing ever quite fits first go. When you get it all sorted though - you feel on top of the world don't you! Yup - enjoying beer right now - letting the red breathe a little first......
