I'm looking at joining a 4WD club and have been doing a bit of research on the net and I came accross the Mitsubishi 4WD Club of Queensland. Are there any current or ex members of this club that could give first hand feedback, both good and bad on the type of people and the trips that this club run.

I've had a good look at their web site and it looks like they are family orientated (which is a good thing) and run trips every other week or so. How important is it to attend the monthly meetings as I live on the Gold Coast and the meetings are held 1 hour away in Brisbane.

Thanks,
Johno

Johno...
I think we might have had this conversation before..... but if you are on the Gold Coast have you considered the Gold Coast Four Wheel Drive Club? Our meetings are the first Tuesday of each month at nerang Bi-Centenial Hall, start at 8pm and usually go for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours... You can view our web site by clicking here. One of our new members also is in the Mitsubishi Club and he says good things about them.... we have a lot of members who don't make it to every meeting, I can't see that it would be a problem with the Mitsubishi club, and lastly I met a couple of them on Fraser Island at the cleanup weekend and they were good blokes!!!
If you decide to join our club, come and say g'day... if you join the Mitsubishi club, let us know how it goes and have a great time!

Thanks Brian, you are right we did discuss briefly the GC FWD Club. I'm still tossing up what to do. I could join both as I'm pretty keen to do more weekend camping trips and I'd have more options if I'm in both clubs.

It's good to go on your own every now then but much more fun to have a group of people to laugh at you I think. Plus the clubs have more access to State Forests an the like.

Johno,

I am a recent member of the club and have found them excellent. Very friendly and plenty of trips. As for the meetings would not expect it was a big issue, you really meet the club people on the trips and not at the meetings.

The kids on the trips have been good and my kids have enjoyed each trip.

Give the membership officer a call and come for a trip to form you own opinion before you join.

Regards

Thanks Coolman, I'll take your advice and give them a call first and go to a meeting as a visitor first.
