Cheers in advance

I have the Dtronic fitted. Very simple and works well. Wouldn't be without it.

Yes, sold by Safari and most 4WD places - ARB etc. Cost about $1,450 but look out for a 2nd hand one as well.

Most, I won't say all in case I get some back yard "expert" trying to discredit me, electronically controlled fuel injected diesel engine management systems can't be fitted with enhanced chips. You need to look at the module system (which piggy backs the EMS) such as a Dtronic. Go to the website and it will tell you every thing you want to know.

http://www.safari4x4.com.au/

They do work I have one. They work on re-mapping the fuel and provide some minor residual improvement in turbo boost. This mod is usually the first step to other enhancements which may include mandrel exhaust and turbo boost control valve (brings it on earlier).

There is another product on the market but the name illudes me.

Deano,
I have a DTronic in my 2001 model 100Series T/D. I bought it with the DTronic already fitted.

My Mate has bought a 2005 T/D Landcruiser, and observed that there was a difference when towing - mine was more relaxed than his was, espeically up hills and overtaking had more juice than his.

This was towing a motorcycle trailer with three dirtbikes and jerry cans down to Bunury from Perth. Also when towing my 21' Fibreglass boat.

Bear in mind though that adding an exhaust, etc will get you the gains that you're probably looking for as advertised on the Safari website. My 3" exhaust isn't overly noiser than stock.

Just watch that the costs don't spiral upwards too much, unless you're cashed up.

I love mine. A great car to drive. Everytime I get in it I feel like doing another lap of Oz..

Cheers,
Davo

I have one in my 3 litre patrol and it works. Much more torque at low revs. Engine seems smoother running especially at low speeds. Mine seems to use a bit more fuel than standard however it tends to keep in O/D longer without shifting down. I love it at 100Kph, 2000 revs and it is dead quiet.

Cost me $700.00 on ebay

I've read and heard a lot of bad reports on the dtronic so got a tuneit. Fitted by ARB city southern. Does the job with heaps of extra grunt now, no problem towing the van. Lots of people have the dtroinc but they arent available for certain vehicles. Check out the tuneit website it has a huge model range and lots of info. www.tunit.com.au I think.

This ad was brought to you by B Diesel.

So, as asked of you on other forums, please pass on the URL's to the bad reports on DTronics.. I'm yet to see one.

I'd like more info on the bad reports as I'm considering a DTronic also.

Hey Truckster,

I remember (I think) reading a long while ago that we can't use the B Diesel full name on the forums, it gets deleted or something.

Do you know what the story behind this is?

Thanks,

Aaron.

this link has some great info no matter which one you go with. As far as I know only dtronic and tunit adjust both timing and fuel...the others are just like a set screw and adjust only fuel.
