I reckon you'd be better off spraying the underneath with a mix of water and kerosene - about 50:50. The oil in the kero will keep your shiny bits from rusting. This is what the off-beach washing systems at Rainbow Beach use I believe.

My Father inlaw has been washing his XY Falcon since new with kero/water mix, no rust, all rubber's still look new, and shines like the day he bought it.

Yup - that's what the concors d'elegance guys use when they want to win. Paint loves kero - and rust hates it.

Simple

If you use your garden sprayer with fishoil, that will be the last time you will use that sprayer.

To spray on fishoil I just bought one of those $2 spray bottles and then through it out. I did this about a week before we went to Fraser. The fishoil wasn't fully cured and plenty of sand is now stuck to it. So it's better not to go on the sand untill the fishoil has set.

Simple,
I used LANOX, which is a mixture of INOX and LANOLINE, before I last went to Fraser.
This seemed to work quite well as it repelled water, sand etc didnt stick and the underneath of my ute cleaned up very easily and quickly when I got home.
Yes dust will stick to the lanoline which doesnt quite dry off, but it washes off easy enough, then just spray some more on.
Works for me.

Lanox is good.

I have also used linseed oil in turps on a boat trailer to good effect. A thin coat of linseed protects metal. However be careful with rags soaked with linseed - could ignite.

Maybe lanolin or linseed are better applied thinly with a carrier like turps to ensure penetration and spread. Also if it is easier to apply it can be done more regularly.
