Hi All
Not sure what the bar correct name is but it is approx 20mm dia and runs from one front wheel to the other and sits very close to the shocks and there is a 90 degree bend at each end.

Basically the bar has shifted to one side and is touching one of the shocks and rubs every time the suspension is flexed.

The bar is fixed by 2 bushes and does not appear to have been damaged or bent but has slipped.

Would the best way to fix this be to unbolt the 2 "fixing bushes" and apply a bit of force from one end to relocated the bar?

The bar appears to have moved only by approx 10mm.

The fix to the problem is new bushes as said above.
Temporary fix is a hit with a 10pounder on one end of the bar to nudge it back into position.
happened several times to me before replacing the bushes.. just laziness on my behalf..

Thanks for that

I guess a trip to the dealer is in order for the parts.

Hi Mozza

I have trying to do what you suggested and am getting nowhere fast.

Can you cast your mind back as to what size your bushes are mine appears to be 24mm as that is what is stamped in to the clamp bracket but it appears to be nion impossible to find some that size the common size appears to be 25.5mm even though they were made with about 6 different size dia bars.

If yours are 24 mm can you remember the manufacturer or dealer.

Hi All,
I'm a new member to this site. I had the same problem with the front torsion bar in my frontera. My bar had shifted to the right, and was therefore rubbing on the rubbers which insulate the engine bay. As far as I am aware, the bar is not held in place with locaters, therefore is self adjusting. I took the bar out and re-greased the rubbers with proper rubber grease. It can now move more freely and therefore can adjust itself centrally.
