Hi everybody, can anyone give me any advice on my exhaust noise? It seems to sound like an exhaust brake. Usually only hear it when coming down through the gears. I used to have a turbo on my 2H powered troopy but now have extractors fitted up to a 3" system. First I thought it was the muffler, wrong- had it replaced and still does it! I've checked the pipes and can't find a leak anywhere. Someone mentioned that it could be a valve
seat (hope not, only had the head done just over12 months ago) but there is no clunks coming from the head.
P.s. I found my budgy noise she was making a while ago- the speedo cable. Removed, regreased and it hasn't made a noise since.
Thanks

Lack of backpressure in the 3" pipe?
My 80 does similar after letting off the go pedal at high revs in low gears.
Sounds like you may have the exhaust ruled out- is there some additional noise coming from the drive train that is throwing you out as it takes up the revs when engine braking?

Thanks mate, might be worth looking into. I think I'll give the old girl a trip to the mechanics anyway. It doesn't seem to do it all the time and it just sounds like a popping from the tailpipe.
