engel freeze temperature

was wondering if anyone can enlighten me on the temperature a 60ltr engel gets down to when it is in freeze mode using 240 volts. i want to use it as a freezer at home so i need to know how low it can go.

thanks for the link V8. that answers my question. looks like i dont have to buy myself a new deep freezer. cool. now with the money i have saved i can afford to buy some food to put in it. if your ever in bairnsdale drop in for a free feed. its the least i can do.
actually i couldnt even think of how i was going to do an internet search. the brain was in a non functioning gear. lack of sleep i think. so thanks for being my brain on this one. i have the fish now if only i could learn to fish.wouldnt need to really on others for info. and to think i have the rods and reels just sitting there gathering dust.

Peter. My 40lt gets down to -19 on 12volt useing the engel thermometer with the probe clipped in the middle at the top. cheers brian

It will probably get cold enough but will also probably run the motor more than it should. I'd say they're OK to use as a freezer for a short period but they're more designed to be used as a fridge.
IMO, using it permanentely as a freezer may considerably shorten the life of the motor.

You may be right re motor life but I've had my 40 litre on freeze for last 3 years-constantly and it hasn't popped yet!!
