Hi all
I read with interest the post 25679
I do not know the details about this particular incident but from reading the posts submitted there are two areas of thought .
My thoughts are that in the climate that we live in "TODAY"
That few people want to take responsibilty for there actions," it's always someone or something that is to blame" !!!
For example - Wet roads cause accidents ???
How many times has the media said that ???
Who causes accidents on wet roads ???
For the past 30 years I have had a career as an Emergency
Services Personnel and I have taken great pride in my job, helping the general public in there time of need.
Unfortunately a very worrying trend has started to appear in recent years !!
The general public has started to have little tolerance for the job we do especially if it impacts on there day to day activities, ie, Not moving out of the way of a emergency vehicle, Why didn't you get here sooner, Closeing roads, disrupting essential
services for a short time, anything that may inconvenience the "individual" all emergency
services either proffessial or volunteer try to do there job to the best of their ability
MY POINT - is that now a days society on a hole does not accept their own responsibility for there actions - its always someone elses fault
WE ALL, have to take responsibility for our actions and if that means travelling to the Far North of Australia in CROC infested waters we have to do our home work and prepare ourselves with as much information as we can, to ensure we complete our trip as safley as possible and at the same time enjoy ourselves
It's a great trait us humans have to feel sorry for those in there hour of need !!
But what about the "EMOTIONS" that the emergency
services personnel have to deal with attending the call because someone took the attitude - I'm not going to take responsibility for my actions.
YES, I took on the job to help people in there hour of need but unfortunately there are a lot of people that are quick to blame someone or something for there own
carelessness as I stated before there is a trend forming where "people" are not accepting " THERE OWN RESPONSIBILITY"
Stay safe and enjoy this great " AUSSIE LAND "
