Yes noticed this last week. Seems they have gone power mad as there doesn't seem to be any other reason for it.

I wrote to the Environment Minister and CALM before it was closed (as I read on the trackcare website that it was about to be closed) and was told that they were closing it because of the following reasons:

1. Hoons, burn outs etc. (true, I have camped there and witnessed this).
2. Danger to the public because of the infiltration of Blackberry bushes.
3. Danger to the puclic because of unsafe building remains.

Personally I think numbers 2 and 3 are just a poor excuse, as my family and I can take care of ourselves and don't need to be wrapped up in bubble wrap thank you very much.
The problem is the irresponsible actions of the few that have caused the local property owners to constantly complain about the noise etc.

The usual storey unfortunatally. I personally also think thay it's just too much trouble for the rangers from Dwellinup to drive there reguarly to maintain it as they are just directing eveyone to the POW Campsite in Dwellingup.

I dont know if anyone else heard about it, but not too long ago there was a mob of blokes on trail bikes that did the holland track and ripped it right up, tearing up the bush as well as the formed tracks. Calm discovered it shortly after it, and spent a significant amount of time cleaning up after the mob- this only shortly after they had spent time pushing a grader through the track. There were threats to close the track should it happen again.

Although it seems they are being nature nazis, I'm also left scratching my head trying to come up with something to stop the blatant vandalism these clowns leave behind that bleep it up for everyone else. It seems like their name & shame campaign was well recieved on all sides though.

but as per usual punish those who have commited no crime, and if they did catch the soandsos they would a lesser punishment than those law biding people that can no longer enjoy the great spots austalia has to offer.
