There's a reconned 4 speed trannie/transfer on eBay I'm interested in. The seller says it's from an early fj55 but will fit any 2F. I've got a 4 speed '81 FJ60.
Can anyone tell me if this is a straight swapover job or if there are going to be mounting issues.
The seller says "is from out of an early model FJ 55, but will suit all 2F motors. Yes the mounting bolt holes are at the front".
Being in WA I don't often get the chance to pick up big bits for the FJ - most of them seem to be in FNQ or similar
places the missus won't give me the weekend to hop over and pick them up :-)

Gday
You will find all sorts of differences in the gearboxes,....the transfer on the early fj55 is completely different to the fj60....it will fit in there, you may need to mod driveshafts, but in the end, the 55 transfer was the weak link...thats why they redesigned it in the fj60.
You will find a gearbox on outerlimits in the 4 sales section.
