Where's the best place (price) to pick up a NEW GQ front windscreen. My insurance company won't give me a freebie.

I got one from Obriens in Dandenong.

Not happy with the service though, the thing leaked. went back 2 times.

Ring around, Ive heard massive differences on prices...

Good luck dude.

Phone around as the difference in prices is *astronomical*.
I just had some windows done with rubber insertion, and the prices ranged from O'Briens being the dearest and rudest at $250, to a little local bloke that did a great job at $143. I asked him why the difference in prices, and he told me 'no fancy overheads, and I don't rip people off like some, and charge a reasonable price and always have sufficient work'.

My local O'Briens want $203 fitted at my place.
Novus want $205, $170 at their workshop.
Both come with a 2" blue tint band at the top (not my choice).
Novus want an extra $110 for one without the blue tint.
This is reusing my 6 year old rubber (supposed to be good for 10 years).
The clincher.......Nissan want $1065 +GST +fitting. WOW!!!

Haven't tried the "little blokes" yet.

$200 is better than what I was expecting.

Just for the record...
After some 20 phone calls trying to find someone who makes a new GQ windscreen without 4" of blue tint along the top. I have been successfull.
Despite the garbage I have been fed, City Windscreens in Brisbane will specially order me one for less than what most of the other crowds wanted and don't believe I will need to replace the rubber.
Lesson learnt.......don't give up.
$185 brand new fitted.
