My truck has a 2" lift and without specifically putting 285's on rims and fitting them I am asking if anyone on the forum has such tyres on their GQ and how do they perform?

Remember it will change ya gearin, losing useable low range.
Anything can be done, I had my 31's hitting on inner guards with the 8+in of lift...
theres a thread or 1234234 on olimits on this recently

Willie,
I've wanted to put 285s on my GU for some time now, but have been concerned that the slight gearing difference would make it a bit too sluggish. I would think that issue would be even more noticeable on your naturally aspirated rig.
Cheers mate

Borrow some 285s for a weekend, or day...

but at 500ton, I think it would be an issue for your rig, in mine, diffs going from 4.1 to 4.3 made a massive difference in useable power...

Yeah but my naturally aspirated rig is a lot lighter than your turbocharged 5.5tonne behemoth. Still only thinking about it. My truck with its massive 85kw wheelspinning power probably wouldn't notice the difference....hahahahahaha

it's a pity we didn't do a triial while you were in Kalgoorlie Willem as I'm running 285's on my 80 Series
