Folks,

I have a 105 Series, live axle, etc.....

We are looking for a suspension and tyre upgrade, but not spending too much.

Would like about a 3-4" lift, and tall tyres, not wide tyres though.

I have split-rims now, but I would like something that comes out a bit more to the edge of the body, but still be able to use 235mm wide tyres. I don't know if bearings would be a problem if we came out that far though.

We have an engineer lined up to certify it, so no hassals there.

Any suggestions?

Save money and grief, leave it standard.

Be prepared to spend a bit more if you do the lift and your truck is full time 4wd.

I did plenty of searches before I lifted my 105 and found alot of reports of front end vibrations. Luckily my research had paid off and had the extra money to spend on getting my front driveshaft modified, because you wouldn't want to drive around long with vibrations I was getting in mine after the lift.

It cost me around $500 to have a second hand cardan joint from a hilux put on the transfer case end of the front shaft. My lift is 6inches so you may not need this modification but I have read reports from other trucks with these vibrations after mild lifts.

Hope this helps.

Phil.
