Aiming of Satellite dish - easy?

Is it easy to aim a satellite dish please? I am thinking of purchasing a satellite set up so I can access some free to air channels while travelling remotely. If the accurate aiming of the dish is anywhere near being a pain for a novice, I would not bother with the purchase.
Thanks,
Dave

Dave, there is a website that will give you the exact direction to point your dish at the location you give.
I don't know the site, but there were people using it while we were on our WA trip this year.

like anything takes a little practice
good if you have a person that knows to show you the first time
after 10 times it was easy info here how to erect and chart for locations around Aus
Hardware and tare where purchased the gear
the tripod is a must have bit of gear for $80
now takes 5 mins to have up and running
quicker than trying to stuff around with land based transmission and TV aerial
find the satTV great

They had enough trouble in the movie - 'The Dish' - and all they had to find was the moon!!! LOL

I suspect it depends somewhat on the brand/model of the dish, plus practice. When you go to buy:
- make sure it is easy to finely manipulate up & down and side to side
- get them to show you how to use the satellite finder
- find out what/how many other satellites are near the one you are going to use - some digital sat finders can tell you which satellite you are getting a signal from, so it doesn't take so long to check whether you've got the right one.

And hey, if I can do it, you can!
