Goodaye,
I am heading up to the Jamieson area this weekend, and was wondering whether anyone can suggest a
good camp ground on the road between Jamieson and
Woods Point. We were going to head to Grannys Flat on the
Licola road, but unfortunately the road is closed this time of year.
Suggestions would be appreciated.
Cheers

Gaday Rattles. You will have no problems finding a
camp on the
Woods Point road out of Jamieson as there are about 30 to choose from, about 8 with
Toilets all along side the
Goulburn river. This time of year you will pretty much have them to yourself.
I don't believe you would have any issues getting to Granny's Flat anyway as the last time I went up I didn't see any closures on the Skene road even though I have heard they discourage traffic on it due to the road surface falling to bits half way up & to stop people getting bogged up in the snow. On any weekend there could be as many as 100 cars trying to get over so the closure certainly isn't enforced.
Might see you up there as I have a group of 14 cars staying at the Jamieson Pub Friday night & in Igloos up on Mt Skene Saurday.
Cheers Craig................

I might see you up there also... Staying at
the brewery hotel Fri & Sat nights... Myself in black Triton, 2 white GQ's and possibly a silver Paj.
As for camps, from memory(as others have said) there are plenty to choose from, Granny's Flat is definately accessible from Jamieson.

Will be in the area with Craig on the w/e, the road to grannies flat will be accessable, but if not, the area on the right at Knockwood heading to
Woods Point from jamieson is normally very quiet, and
toilets there, and the river running through.
Camping at Wrens flat would allow access to a much greater area though, to see the countryside.

Expect me about 6.00. I hear that the beer is cold in Victoria even when not refrigerated at this time of year.
See You NT
