has anybody had anything to do with these units for a 2.8 Nissan? Moxons enhancer are claiming up to 30% more power and torque,( ad in 4wd monthly). Would be interested in hearing about these or other units that may help a 2.8 as I know they definately need a bit of help low down.

I had one fitted in 2000 and they really make a differance with no increase in fuel consuption, do not know if you get 30% extra power though, the dyno was out when I had
mine done.

I had a Motson's in my 2.8 GU before I did a conversion to a 4.2. One of the best things I got. Gave around 33% extra torque when you work out the figures which put it just a tad below the 3.0L patrol. I have the dyno sheet scanned if interested and also have the Motson's box for sale. I have posted results many times on this
forum so it may pay to do a search. You can email me on grungle229 at optusnet dot com dot au if you want the dyno sheet.

A mate of
mine had one these fitted to his 1999 gu 2.8.he was very impressed with the improvment in power it gave him and to prove a point he gave me a drag one day on
the beach against my 3.0. After 500 mtres he was about 2 car lengths ahead..blew me away. The only thing that had both of us intrigued was that i could over take him in a over taking lane while going uphill and he could not keep up. Note>>. both of us were towing camper trailers and his was about 200 kg lighter then
mine.
So maybe these enhancers give you more power down low but not much inprovment up top.

Stick a TD42T in it.
I thought Motsons etc didnt do work for the 2.8 anymore?

Truckster
Motsons still do one for a 2.8, agree a 4.2 is the way to go but $ will limit me for a while, would like to know what a 4.2 conversion would cost and what you need to change ie Diff ect ect

converting a 2.8 to a 4.2 would not be a viable exercise.
basically replace the engine and gearbox, wiring harness, etc..
