Planing a desert trip next winter from the
Gold Coast to
Broome & back via the
Savannah Way. Have gathered lots of information on most of the areas that we will be traveling on except one. The
Gary HWY from
Everard Junction to
Gary Junction at the point that the CSR meets. All info would be great or direction to publications with like info thanks.
Cheers
Dave

We came south down the Gary Highway from
Gary Junction in May. Drove as far as Veevers Crater. Then backtracked along part of the
Gary Hwy and another track which eventually meets up with Jenkins Track(
Gary Junction Road extension) and on to the CSR at Kunawarritji/Well33.
The bit of the
Gary Hwy we did pass through is open country with scattered gums. The track is corrugated in
places and there are a few washouts to look out for but one can cruise along at 80kmh if you want to.
Will be up that way again next year but driving up the
Eagle Hwy to the
Talawana Track and then on to an excursion along the Canning
