is there any point in towing a boat (quintrex 455 hornet) to cape leveque? if so, has anyone done it and what are the pluses and minuses?

trailer damage could be one depending upon what time of year.

Was up there in June last year, and while I didn't tow a boat, the road was reasonably good, occasional sandy patches, and I'd see no reason why a boat couldn't be towed if one was careful. (After rain, it's a different story tho). Saw other boats at middle lagoon. You'd need to ring ahead to Kooljamin at Leveque to check on vacancies (can be booked out) and boat launching facilities (don't recall seeing any at Leveque). Middle Lagoon seemed to have more camping space and good beach to launch boats. Both great places.
Cheers,
Gerry

worked up at cape leveque a few years ago and would launch a boat(16ft) of the beach.Unbelievable fishing offshore and around the island to the west beach.lots of places to explore and fishing is not the same from the shore.friends towed a boat 5 years in a row with no drama but took it sensible speed wise.low tyre pressures on the beach to launch the boat saw no problems.wish I was there now.enjoy.

Yes, great fishing and just launch off the beach.
Boat is certainly the best way to fish the area, shore fishing bit quiet.
BUT take it very easy on the way in, the track can be pretty dodgy.

was there in late June and a guy had a 16ft boat there. I was stunned cos the road was completely crap, the worst of my 9 week trip. The owner said it took him and his mates 10hrs to tow it from Broome (200k's).
Good luck.
