Hello everyone, just wondering if anyone knows of some place in or around Melbourne that can convert a Holden ute to a 4x4!

What sort of Holden ute are you talking about? Old HQ/Z series/ or commode?

The commode ute you see in 4wd mags is actually a commode body on another chassis. Rangie if I remember, its been yonks...

it would be 1000's cheaper to buy a 4wd ute.

also have a word to sandy at aus4wd specialists in bayswater

In the 4x4 trader magazines there is a Holden station wagon on some sort of 4x4 chassis and there is also a genuine Overlander Station wagon as well. I wouldn't have thought it cost effective to convert an old ute - you could consider the new Commodore awd ute.
