I have a cruiser pick up with a 1FZ-FE Fuel injected engin and a mate a 1FZ carburator model he gets a better fuel consumption. I was always under the impression that fuel injected motors used less fuel than carb motors. Has any body got any ideas.

Different loads and different right feet?
| Geoff,
Grey hair is hereditary, you get it from children. Baldness is caused by watching the Wallabies.

Craig,
The 80series came with both carb and EFI versions of the 3F.

Hi Craig,
Production was until Aug '92.
Get some details here
The carby motor was the 3F and the EFI version was the 3F-E.
I think GXL upwards got the 3F-E.
Cheers

I don't know too much about the petrol models but if it is anything like a lot of newer cars you have the fuel injection system all wired into a heap of sensors etc... One of those being the oxygen sensor in the exhaust...... if this one dies the motor is tricked into injecting more fuel into the motor... (? From what a mechanic told me anyway) Like I said, I am not very knowledgable on the petrol models but it is food for thought!
Cheers
