Watched the mechanic do it the other day. There is a fair bit of mucking around. Basically you have to remove the Turn Signal light, and the grill to get access to two hidden bolts.

If you go in to Supercheap Auto you can buy the Gregories workshop manual for $35.00. It describes it in detail.

Good Luck!

Gedday Mick,

There is a black plastic phillips head screw at the front just near where the indicator light meets the headlight. Remove it then just behind where that screw is there is a metal phillips head pin that is quite long. It just pulls out.

That should release the turn signal lamp assembly.

Do you mean the whole headlight assembly or just the globe? I replaced my globes last weekend; took me about 5 minutes to do the passengers side one, cos I had to take the 3 nuts off the bottom of the air cleaner box, so i could move it back a couple of poofteenths to get my fat claw in to pull the plug off the back of the globe. The drivers side one is easy.
If you mean the whole headlight; sorry can't help you....but I imagine that what the other bloke said about removing the indicator/parking light assemble (a job I have done), would be the 1st step to getting it out. Also recall that it seems to sit in behind a lip of the grille too, so maybe that plastic bit needs to be loosened off as well.
Good luck

G'day Rolande,
They went in okay and seem to work okay too; although I haven't been out of town with them yet. I have made a loom up with a dual New Era relay and 3 plugs (the type that fit onto the back of the H4 globes). Will fit it on weekend and see if it makes any difference to the light output.

Cheers

Dear Mr Roach

Can you please stop giving politician style answers and tell us all how the 1c blue globe thingo's that you got from who knows where , perform.

Go on, answer Rolande's question. I dare you, and Okay is not an answer.

Did they illuminate your driveway enough to see with, or are they a trick device to bypass your Shuu-Roo and lure the suckers into that fancy $1,000,000 radiator.

If you are trying to work the old Insurance 1 - 2 so that you can trade up to a nice new Toyota, I fully sympathise with you, however I don't think the insurance man is going to wear 'it was the 1c globes that caused it'

C'mon, tell us they really work/perform. At 1c each I am busting to know.

Dear Mr Lucy and Mr Truckster,
The globes DID NOT cost 1 cent each.........they cost half a cent each (or for you old farts....." 2 for a penny"). I did have to pay $11.50 postage from HK, and they took about 7 days to arrive.

They replaced the original globes that are now 5 years old, so I am not surprised they are a bit brighter; but ooohh are they sooooo much WHITER!!!!!!!!

The main reason I wanted to upgrade is so that I won't get such a bad feeling of "where the far-k are we" when I dip down from the Lightforce Blitz 240s. (The wanky blue/white tinge that oncoming traffic will see when they approach me is an added "bonus" ....or is that "bone-up"??).
