Any recommendations/preferences for the material for an annexe, Canvas or Vinyl? We intend to be using it in the red dirt. Are there significant differences with weight, temperature, cleaning, etc.

Canvas "breathes" ,vinyl does not , canvas is sewn and is easy to repair , vinyl can be sewn but is mostly welded , canvas is usually lighter in weight for a given area than the plastic ,canvas comes from a renewable resource , cotton,,,, vinyl plastic comes from a laboratory from mineral oils ect , getting to complicated after the 2nd bottle of Red.

Hi mate, for what its worth, here is my opinion. I have a 12 ft Canvas camper trailer and annexe and have never looked back. I have tried the "cheap vinyl tarps, the really dear supposidly top notch poly double sewed, tripple eyed variety of tarp and find that they are not a patch on canvas. The canvas is great in the hot and cold, breathes
well and, although it does pick up a bit of (red ) dust, is easy to clean and stands up to one hell of a gale force wind.Yes it is a bit heavier than the poly tarp but you have to decide on the term of use and whether it sits in the garage after you have finished with it because noone wants to buy it off you?
For years of service, go canvas in my opinion,
cheers,
Gordy
