Hi all,
Does anybody have any experience of front & rear brake pads on a 80 (small disc model)?

I've worn them out and need to buy some, but which - Genuine, Bendix, EBC, Ferodo etc.

My vehicle use is 50% on road 50% offroad. Offroad is quite severe use - mud, river crossings, etc. Car is an auto, so brakes are used more offroad than would be in a manual car.

Are there any replacement discs that are preferable to std? If not l'll get the current fitted part skimmed and go from there.

Any help, thanks.

I went through all this not long ago myself.... (larger sized rotors)

I ended up putting Bendix 4x4 on the front and genuine pads on the rear... I changed the front rotors over too but didn't particularly worry about brands as they will all wear out with mud etc through them... Easy job to change and overall it only cost a couple hundred dollars so if I have to do it again one day it won't kill me!

As the car has a bit of a lift on it I also adjusted the load sensor for the rear brakes out a bit to compensate for the lift...

Cheers

If you want to spend a little more, ask around the wreckers for a set of disc, calliper and backing plate out of the 93 or later 80, these bolt straight on, and put a pair of 100 series front pads in them....you wont believe the difference, and you can still run 15 inch wheels.
