starter motor on a TD27

I have just learnt that the starter motor on my terrano is dead.
Not having the pleasure ever before in changing the starter motor, is there any tips or tricks that I should know about. Apparently it's not an easy place to get to in the terrano (or navara).

Well, we do live on a steep
hill,
but it's an auto.
