Hi there Andrew
You will find that if you buy the colman you will never regret it it is the best of the best out there.
I have one and it never lets me down and i have a family of 4 and use it every second weekend on average.
The only mod i made was to lenthen the shower hose wich i brought at bunnings for $2 as the coleman one was way to short.
Hope this helps.
Cheers
Ken

Andrew, the unit is a liitle larger than a computer tower & pretty much self contained. They have a unique disposable Coleman gas bottle that is not yet available in remote locations but apparently there is an adaptor to fit the standard Companion style bottles. Others may be able to give a better idea on how long they last & what they cost.
The
water flow in the units I've seen when used as a shower is a bit slow compared with a Glind or Primus unit but does do the job.
How reliable or good they are seems to vary a bit as some people swear by them & others have had nothing but trouble. As previously mentioned check Post # 26055 for both sides of the story. Personally for 4x4 touring I think they are a waste of space, maybe better suited to base
camping.
Cheers Craig........

Yes there is an adapter. I think it also fits the Pro Cat heater.

Apart from the bulk - we love ours. Showers are great, and so much better than a car shower like our Glind because the temperature is so infinitely variable - and it stays where you set it. We run from the 1kg canisters, but also have the 9kg bottle adapter. We also have the hose/pump attachment so that you can run it from a garden hose if you need to.
We did, however, replace the shower head with a proper
water saver head from a hardware store - and it too is variable in its flow rate.
A top unit..... if you have the room.
Photo1: The unit set up in a dual-room shower tent. It's elevated on a table so that the rise to the shower head is kept to a minimum. It's also there so that it can be ajusted easily by sticking your hand in from the shower room to turn the temp knob. [ View Image]
Photo 2: The shower room. I've used a pole to attach the head to and it's the perfect height.

Hi Chrispy
Where did you get the 9kg adaptor?
I have tried Kmart here in
Townsville where I bought my Coleman plus other
camping stores and no-one knows anything about them.
Cheers Poppy

Hi Poppy :)
My wife Jenny works for a Great Outdoors
camping store every second weekend as a second job. We got it from her store. Looking at the Coleman website, the adapter isn't mentioned, but it may be the same adapter they sell for other applications where the small bottle is replaced by a 9kg - such as their catalytic heaters for instance.
If you can't get it from your favourite store, you may try contacting Coleman to ask them for your neariest outlet. I went to the Coleman website ( www.colemanaustralia.com.au ) and found that yours are
Camping Galore at Hermit
Park and Rylands Place in Kirwan.
Make sure you get the carry bag too....
well worth it.
Cheers
Chris
