Hi all, I am planing a trip to
Moreton Island again in November. Last time we stayed between Bulwar and Cowen Cowen and didn't get to see the top (northern) end. Would like to
camp up there but wonder of its conditions. Very self-sefficient and a love of fishing with my family. Please any one who is fimilar with the top-end of
Moreton Island camping, we would love your valuable advise. Thank you.

Brian, I have not camped on the Eastern side of Moreton but you can
camp at Yellow Patch (Between the lighthouse and Bulwar).
Camping there however during summer you will get plenty of Northerly winds and the
camp sites are un-protected. A great spot to
camp is on the main beach about half way down the island. From there you can go North/ South.
The spot where we camped is- go on the western beach road and turn North(left) when you hit
the beach. Go about 200 meters until you come to a small
creek. Turn in there and vere left as you follow the
creek. It opens into a grassed area about as big as a house block that is protected from the wind and has beautiful showering
water there. You are about 100m from the surf. Good enough for me.

Eastern side ,
Blue lagoon, easy run up to
lighthouse and then accross to yellowpatch for fish , would not recommend eastern side if have very small children however , surf can really pump with lots of rips ect so becomes dangerous for the little ones.
