Just got back from doing Cape York and the old Telegraph track with our Tru Blu Eagle camper and couldn,t be happier with the peformance of the trailer. We were nearly steered away by coments shown on this site but we are glad we decided on buying a Tru Blu and now have advised friends to buy the same trailer.

I've seen them and they are reasonable. Not a lot of clearance between top of tyre and mudguard was my first opinion.

Bad experience from a member that has been previously reported is a concern.

On balance glad it worked for you. I'm looking around at the moment and have seen True Blu, Casuarina and Outback so far. My ranking would be Outback, Tru Blu then Casuarina if you consider quality/ robustness, value for money and experience in industry.

Hey Ted

Yeh I agree there have been one or two traders pushing their own stuff here.

I also agree that I would prefer traders to keep out of debates unless they have been slandered.

However cascampers you raised the question re your product. My opinion is that your product looks like a copy of Outback and TruBlu. There is nothing new or innovative to want me to put you on my shortlist. Your kitchens are quite good but so expensive.

The weight of your 7x4 was far more than many in the market. (some I haven't seen yet) You have only just commenced in business and I want to be comfortable that the provider of my future camper has been around for a while and in my assessment will be here to stay. I want the company to build my camper to do their own canvas like Outback and Tru Blu and other I believe.

Three companies have closed in last year or so - not to say you will close. In my opinion Outback and Tru Blu are a better product. Next week I'm going to see a few more in my quest to get the best.

Agree with above comments - casman let us debate stuff and if we get it wrong in FACT then correct us.

Robbo, I hope you haven't given a trader an excuse to push his stuff again.

Toby.

Great to hear some positives about them.

Having spend some time looking at their stuff I recon there are better ones around. Tell your friends to also short list Outback Canvas (as per Robbo above) and even Hirds campers in Shepparton that are well priced (although basic)

In my view after sales service is just as important as camper itself. Tru Blu have struggled here.

As we were on our travels we came across three other owners of the tru blu and they were all very happy with their campers. Doing the old telegraph was very challenging and the wheel clearance was not an issue. We did our homework on buying the trailer and noticed all the responses from this site were from the same person. we ended up making our own descision and are glad we did.

If you did your homework properly you would have seen there were 3 unhappy Tru Blu owners, 2 in regard to build quality & weight & 1 regarding leaking canvas!

Couldn't agree more. I have followed your comments over time and I personally know another unhappy Tru Blu person.

However, as highlead says, people can make up their own minds but at least they can get a head start with comments here.

We got stuck at Cooktown amongst some of the worst wind and rain i have ever seen and were forced to stay in the camper for a couple of days. We were more than impressed with the way the camper held up and so were the caravaners in the park. I'm sorry you didnt enjoy your camper but we couldn't be happier and feel others deserve to hear our views.

If you never used it than isn't it a bit unfair to be so judgemental?

Thats a very naive statement when you have absolutely no idea what the problems were.
Try this for size ......... Compliance plate 450kg, Actual (weighbridge) 911kg
axle assy rating 1000kg = overloaded ex factory. (the max weight a 1000kg axle can legally carry is 830kg)
No brakes = illegal to tow!
That is why I never used it, neither could I legally sell the damn thing, so in the end after litigation they had to buy it back.

Along with the most amateurish cocky bleep welding that you could imagine, nothing was welded square or straight & approx 20% of the trailer was missed with paint.
Thats just for starters! If you want more info just ask.

i've seen you write all this before, and i still aint going to change my opinions. And for your information our camper is rated to 1250 kg with electric brakes and we HAVE been weighed fully loaded and had a mass of 1120kg with water and all. If you were so worried about the weight you should have put brakes on it!

Didn't want to get involved in a slanging match but the people I know were equally disappointed with the quality / welding. They have enquired about adding brakes but that is too expensive to do later.

IMO they are rough.

To Ted and Shaker

I have also been watching the slanging of Tru Blu Campers and as a fellow owner of a Tru Blu have to say i am as equally impressed with my trailer. Had it for over a year now with no problems and have had them do modifications which were done in great fasion.

I think the terminology 'slanging off' indicates that it may be stretching the truth.
I can back up every statement that I have made with hard evidence.

They are very, very lucky that I am not vindictive, as if I was, I would have taken all my evidence to Vicroads Road Safety Division & I am sure that many trailers would have been recalled for registration compliance checks!!!!!!

Maybe no one gives a rats ass what you think Shaker. If someone has a good opinion on Tru Blu than thats their right. Sounds like you could be strong oposition of the company. If you ever did buy a camper off them than take your issues up with them otherwise shut up and allow other people to have their say. JERK!

At any time I see the Tru Blu name mentioned I will warn potential buyers.
So don't flame me just because you may have made a poor choice!

Why the aggressive response bamaga ? I sit and wonder what is behind it..

Shaker is not the only one who has negative comments about Tru Blu and as I am currently doing my own research I want feedback and then I will make up my own mind.

But I can assure you it wont be a rough Tru Blu.

Thats fine. Maybe when you get your trailer we will see each other out amongst it and you can point out to me whats rough on mine.

No hard feelings.
