Every one will have a different idea. Some don't at all.
But every 10,000k is OK. I remember to do it every time I change the oil filter.

Having 5 of the same tyres I rotate all 5 every 10,000 but was talking to a
suspension guru the other day who said the best way to stop right pull in a GU Patrol is to keep the tyre with the most tread on the front left. He recons the best thing is only rotate 4 tyres for 40,000 then put the spare on front left.
Food for thought for GU owners. Dunno if it works?

thanks for response was going to do every 5000 but 10000 seems to be the go with checks in between. Haven't heard of the right pull in GU, the GQ had nasty left pull but after some work done and a few dollars that was fixed. Cheers

Front tyres wear out faster than rear tyres so rotating all 5 tyres will shorten the life of all your tyres. I don't rotate tyres front to back and replace them in pairs as required. This gives maximum life of the rear tyres and hence reduces cost.

I spose it depends on wether you are happy with your tyres or not. If you are happy, rotate 4 every 10k. If not real happy, rotate all 5 (or 6), then when replacement time comes, you can replace all of them.
Also, depends on how long you plan to keep the car, and what the money situation is like. Can you afford to
fork out $1500 on a full set of tyres, or would you rather break it up a bit, and only buy 2 at a time?
In the long run, it doesn't make a real lot of difference. In a 3 year lease, it could be the difference between paying for tyres, or not paying for any at all!
Cheers,
Chump

chel,
Swap the front Right with the back Left, and the front Left with the back Right.....
as to when you do this depends on the tyre use and driving conditions, as 1,000 klms on the stony, corrugated, dirt tracks up north is like 12 months driving in Toorak.

Hi Mainey, thanks for advice and will take on board, I hadn't thought to swap right to left, front to back only thought on front to back. I agree with the dirt and toorak. Cheers
