You can learn somthing new every day , ,asked my tyre man what the little yellow[in my case] dot was , helps with balancing was told , dot should be directly opposite valve stem =less weights required to balance ,had my tyres "spun" to put dot in correct spot ,averaged 50/70grm less wheel weights per wheel ,Beware the junior fitting and balancing your
wheels.

We presently have expensive front tyres with the tread chewed off the outside edges. They will have to be replaced and the dealer has denied even part-responsibility (of course, so much for 'warranty'!).
If the wear had been on the inside we may not have noticed because otherwise the tyres display little wear.
The tyres are on a Falcon that is in very sound condition and did not evidence this wear pattern prior to new tyres and wheel alignment.
The alignment was 'checked' by the supplier at his required interval and has not had any knocks.
The quality of work at some car service centres leaves a lot to be desired and you wonder how it contributes to accidents.
