Anyone camped there?
We're off tomorrow for a week or so and on the way back plan to stay at Dargile if it's a decent place to
camp.
Anyone been there? What's it like?
Cheers,
Jim.

Hi Jimbo
haven't camped there but I checked it out last year...pretty hungry country as you can imagine, was sandy and scruby, but could be ok, and with the recent rain could be ok...from memory there was a large bbq there and drop
toilets.

Lyn,
I value your opinion. After you suggested at
Easter that Warby was scheissen, I was still dopey enough to go and have a look. I'll never doubt you again LOL.
When you say Dargile is "pretty hungry country", just what is it like? If you reckon it's lousy we might detour to Warbuton Bridge.
BTW, Jenny has spent most of the last three weeks in bed and has said everyday how much she appreciates your "assistance" in choosing a woollen underlay. We happened to get a great deal on price as
well. Funny how things happen LOL.
Cheers,
Jim.

Jimbo, it's pretty ruggered, and when i looked dry and uninteresting, if I were to choose between the two, it would be
Warburton Bridge....send me an email about that as I think we're heading up that way soon.
and what can i say about the Warby Ranges..hahaha..I spent a great deal of time up there a looooooooooooong time ago...
No probs about the underlay, glad she's found it comfortable, I know I love
mine, hope she's up and about and on the mend.

from a
camping website I was looking at
"A reasonably pleasant
camp, if it is not crowded or the weather is not too hot. The
camp consists of a sandy
clearing with an adjacent large gravelled car
park which slopes and has limited shade. Recently re-developed, the facilities (large shelter with 4 BBQs,
tank, 5 benches, 2 BBQs, composting
toilet) are good. Exposed to regular traffic on Plantation Tk although recent plantings may eventually improve privacy. Popular horse riding
camp - flies.
Surrounded by a White Ironbark forest with an understory of wattle, brush and
wildflowers. There is a wide variety and quantity of small birds, plus flies.
Wildflowers in spring. An unusual feature is a flourishing grove of Sandalwood (NSW rainforest).
Informal
bush camping is possible nearby, south down the adjacent track.
Camping may be restricted if the area becomes a National
Park."
