Don't usaully get into chain emails but my money for amber fluid is been replaced with the more flammable type. I now have more space in the fridge if anyone needs there beer chilled.

IT HAS BEEN CALCULATED THAT IF EVERYONE IN AUSTRALIA DID NOT PURCHASE A DROP OF PETROL FOR ONE DAY AND ALL AT THE SAME TIME, THE OIL COMPANIES WOULD CHOKE ON THEIR STOCKPILES.

AT THE SAME TIME IT WOULD HIT THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY WITH A NET LOSS OVER 4.6 BILLION DOLLARS WHICH AFFECTS THE BOTTOM LINES OF THE OIL COMPANIES.

THEREFORE THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 22nd HAS BEEN FORMALLY DECLARED "STICK IT UP THEIR ASS" DAY AND THE PEOPLE OF THIS NATION SHOULD NOT BUY A SINGLE DROP OF PETROL ON THAT DAY. THE ONLY WAY THIS CAN BE DONE IS IF YOU FORWARD THIS E-MAIL TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN AND AS QUICKLY AS YOU CAN TO GET THE WORD OUT.

WAITING ON THE GOVERNMENT TO STEP IN AND CONTROL THE PRICES IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REDUCTION AND CONTROL IN PRICES THAT THE ARAB NATIONS PROMISED TWO WEEKS AGO?

REMEMBER ONE THING, NOT ONLY IS THE PRICE OF PETROL GOING UP BUT AT THE SAME TIME AIRLINES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES, TRUCKING COMPANIES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES WHICH EFFECTS PRICES ON EVERYTHING THAT IS SHIPPED. THINGS LIKE FOOD, CLOTHING, BUILDING SUPPLIES MEDICAL SUPPLIES ETC. WHO PAYS IN THE END? WE DO!

WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. IF THEY DON'T GET THE MESSAGE AFTER ONE DAY, WE WILL DO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN.

SO DO YOUR PART AND SPREAD THE WORD. FORWARD THIS EMAIL TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW. MARK YOUR CALENDARS AND MAKE SEPTEMBER 22nd A DAY THAT THE CITIZENS OF AUSTRALIA SAY "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH"

lies.
regardless of if you buy your 100l today or next week, it will happily wait for you- whether it be in a BP refinery storage tank, in transit in a isotainer/tanker or sitting underground at your local servo.

This forwarded junk could have some value if it told everyone in Aus to ride a bike everywhere for the next week. You want to stick it to offshore oil companies? Get a LNG powered hybrid- its that easy.

If you like, I have some emails I can forward about the generous Bill gates sharing his wealth, and some CNN warnings about the "worst virus ever"- They seem to be on par with this.

"STICK IT UP THEIR ASS" DAY, bloody oath I am in.
I am a apprentices and drive 500k’s a week just going to work. I worked hard to get my 4WD and I am not about to trade it in, I figure I spend a lot of time driving so I may as well drive something I like and can enjoy.

apprentice at what? there are many trades that will pay far more than you can earn in the city with all travel and accomadation and food paid for. Your situation may only be as bad as you allow it to be

I am a apprentice Mechanical Fitter, and yes I am aware you can earn a lot of $$ (When qualified), however apprentice Wagers are fairly standard, except if you happen to be doing it with a mining company.

I did have this option and decided for number of reasons it would be better to do it in the city.

Sorry mate. It has been done here before ad nauseum. We can't even get people to agree on only driving one kind of 4x4 so how are you going to convince the Nation not to buy fuel for one day?

Out of $1.40 fuel price per litre the price break down is as follows

64 cents for production

51 cents for Australian Governments and State Governments ie Fuel Excise and GST

25 cents to Oil companies through their outlets

That is according to some fundi on breakfast TV this morning

If you need to drive somewhere you will just have to wear it.

Well as it happens mate, I haven't bought a drop of petrol for 15 years, but while you've got spare time from not buying petrol on the 22nd, you can send a card to Craig Shergold (look it up on Google, I wouldn't expect an internet-unaware person like yourself to know about this).

Please spare us this sort of thing, you're just wasting bandwidth (and come to think of it, so am I...)

Cheers

Yep, it's a perfect example of an Irish virus which is an email initially sent by someone too dumb to write a proper virus (i.e. one with a built in program that automatically sends copies of the email and possibly some undesirable side effects, to all the people in your address book) but instead attempts to get the recipient to do the job themselves by ending with the sad but inevitable tag line - Send this to everyone you know...

The give away with this one is "STICK IT UP THEIR ASS" Real Aussies say ARSE. This is just a slightly rehashed chain email from the US where they don't know their ass from the beast they sit their arse on.
Why? ... Why not?

from snopes

"An event like a "gas out" can sometimes do some good by calling attention to a cause and sending a message. In this case, though, the only message being sent is: "We consumers are so desperate for gasoline that we can't even do without it for a few days to demonstrate our dissatisfaction with its cost." What supplier is going to respond to a message like that by lowering its prices? Those who really want to send a "message" to oil suppliers should try not buying any gasoline for several months in a row. "

And over the next day or two after this (unless they fill up everything before the nominated day) everyone will need fuel to get their kids to school, go to the doctor, work, shops or wherever. The oil companies will still make the sales in the long run, and make their money - their cash flow won't be affected. Think of the family operating the servo on a franchise - squeezed by the oil company, squeezed trying to remain competitive - now they are the ones who could really get hurt. This spam in similar form has been doing the rounds for years (since the Gulf War). I don't believe it will help at all. The Government makes so much from fuel that it is a nice windfall cash earner if fuel prices remain high. Start with your federal member of parliament. Just my opinion. Motherhen

As far as i know there is only a couple ways get prices to drop, Use your Voting Power, and let your Local MP's know what you intend to do, sitting members and oposition members, and the only way to even dent the fuel companies is to do what the American people did back in the 70's. Basically stop buying for a prolonged period of at least a month. In this time we all have to car pool or use public transport and only run vehicles for either emergency use etc. Problem is my wife who is from the States says us Ozzies :-) are to laid back. We bitch and moan but are so easy going so we don't do anything to change situations. I remember hearing stack's of friends years ago say if Fags got to $1 a pack they would quit. You guessed it they still puff away.
