walkers crossing

just got home from the Birdsville races . we travelled south from Birdsville was going to travel along the walkers crossing track to Innaminka . Had map in hand but missed the turn off There were no sign post at this end. Does anyone know why the sign posts have been removed . this was on sunday sept 4

we travelled on walker's crossing late august...the sign was there but not really well marked on the sideof the road, but quite a big sign as you turned off the track.

yes Lyn you are right we have seen the sign before and I do remember it being large . We had 3 vehicales in our group and G,P,S but still missed the turn .

Last time I was there it was like taking a left on the moon - barren, dry and featureless - an easy place to miss a turn - just about have to be a tracker. GPS is the go. As said, once on it, you know you are on it.

Sign is there we allso missed the turn but pulled up 100 meter's past the turn off.The sign see's WALKER'S CROSSING INNAMICKA 226ks as you have to start looking for it 120ks sth of Birdsville,oh and the sign is on your LEFT cheer's GREENDOG
