Has anyone put a twin set up under the bonnet. All the suppliers i have talked to have said that it would be a custom job and the battery would not be able to be all that big. It is going into a 2005 diesel twin cab.

Thanks,

Garrick

I know it's not the answer you were looking for but, I stuck my 2nd batt in the tub because it was too involved to get it under the bonnet.

I have a 2000 triton, got a tray from Pirahna off road which didn't fit, fouled up on AC pipes and a couple of brake lines.Ended up with a custom tray to suit a DC4 deep cycle battery, only 55 amp hours ,works well though.

Did you make the tray yourself or did someone bend one up for you. By the looks of things it will be going in the rear. I have not got the ute yet, still awaiting delivery.

i have just sold my triton (97 v6 dual cab) and had a tray made up for it. Custom job that only cost $125 fitted. they moved the radiator resivoir and the tray took two 12" batts (N70 and ED5) in line. it was no sweat, copped the rough stuff and was coppied by a mate with same but later model, who made it himself. not sure how to add a pic but have them if you want a look
cheers

Garrick,
sorryabout the late reply but yes I knocked it up at home after seeing the after market one.I'm not able to post pics unfotunately,it dropped straight in and didn't have to move anything but it is smaller than the main start battery. If your around the Penrith nsw area your welcome to have a squizz.

GG,

I had set up in my 97 GLS with the V6. The tray sat along the passenger side firewall bolted into the corner. The carbon canister was relocated to the other side. I couldn't fit a large battery like a N70Z but it fitted an indentical sized battery to the main one.

All the parts came from ARB and was fitted by them. They did have to order the tray in and it took a couple of days only. This was only in 2003 so it wasnt that long ago.

Dunno if the Triton is similar to my Challenger (same running gear isn't it?)
Got a 2000 model.
To get dual battery under the bonnet I relocated the charcoal cannister (emission control me thinks) and put in a Piranah tray. Worked a treat.
