Hello.
When people refer to the High Country where do they actually mean?
We are planing our first trip down to Victoria from Nth NSW.
From what we have heard it seems a nice place to travel.

The
vic high country covers a very wide area to cover most of it would take months .You would most likely want to visit Craigs Hut and the Wonnagatta Station this is a good trip which can be tackled many diff ways depend on your 4wd capability grab a few maps and take a look .Im sure you will get plenty of feed back on the forums

Never could work out why
Craig's Hut remained so popular.
People have generally forgotten the last time they saw The Man From
Snowy River.
It has all the
heritage value of an empty coke can. (It was supposed to be pulled down once filming finished so in a way it sort of is litter.)
Apart from the fact that it's in a nice spot with a view that you can just about drive a commodore to - soon will be able to if the work continues - it has very little going for it. There are better
views to be had around near by huts too - eg.
Bluff Hut.
There are sooooo many other huts to see with
heritage & historic value in much more interesting
places. (Whether or not you agree with the ongoing value of that
heritage is another matter we won't go into here...)
Just curious.

I'll say this for the people of QLD. At least they know when the're going to a movie set.
I am embarrased to be a Mexican when Craigs Hut is mentioned.
Why would you drive all that way to see a fake house with make believe people?

I can never work out why any of the huts are so popular.
