Hi all,
Just pondering on your views as to replacing or rebuilding my 3F motor in my 62 series cruiser. Has anyone been down this road with their vehicles and what has been their experience with the pros and cons? Cruiser has 290,000 on the clock and with no major probs other than underpowered in this day and age, I was wondering how much longer it is likely to last.
Any and all opinions would be appreciated.
Thanks, Andi

This is just my opinion
You say it is going ok so as long as it hasnt got any of the usual sighns of being stuffed (using oil, blowing smoke, low compresion) etc I would definitly not be putting a spanner on it. You ask how long it will last- well how longs a piece of string although it might be fair to assume it is the last 3rd of its life. Rebulding it could easily cost you 1/2 or more than the vehicle is worth and you still wont have a rocketship. I reckon your most cost effective options are
- Keep driving it it could well have another couple of hundred thou in it
- sell it while it is still worth something and use that money to put towards something else
- do a holden v8 conversion - might even use less fuel
