I have recenty bought a Ford Courier 4x4 king cab 1991 model .I want to convert it to LPG /petrol and am wondering if anyone has done this .Is the engine ok on LPG ? no problems with overheating or cylinder head damage ? is it much better on LPG as the petrol consumpion is quite high of a 2.6 litre engine.

I also want to fit wider tyres and rims but can only do this if i use smaller diameter tyres as the front guards will hit the tyres as the suspension bottoms , is it ok to raise the front suspension with torsion bars and more extrteme angles on the front Cv joints?

Would appreciate any information.

This is a awesome site BTW.

Noel

The problems of fitting a bottle under the mazda and still having a spare wheel make it less atractive, the pay back distance for an lpg conversion will be over 20,000 k's, the fact that you want to change the wheels as well suggests you want more than the vehicle is designed for. I predict that you will change the vehicle in less than 20,000 k's so there is no piont in doing the conversion. Good luck Eric.
